WHO WE ARE
At Fun In the Sun Lacrosse Camps, we are proud of our entire staff. We’re a combination of previous Fun In the Sun Lacrosse Camps campers and highly experienced camp directors. The staff is always rounded out by current high school and college players most of whom were former campers. This year will be no exception. This year camp will also be staffed with several of Rob's Bishop's players offering players a chance to learn some of those Canadian box lacrosse skills from high level box players who have transferred those skills to the field, playing CUFLA D1 Lacrosse
Rob played at and graduated from Syracuse University in 1984 and has been coaching both lacrosse and ski racing ever since. In 1999 he took over the Queen City Lacrosse Tournament and started Vermont's Youth All Star Game while directing that. He has coached Lacrosse at all levels including as UVM ‘s Assistant, Head Coach at SBHS, CVU, VT Youth All Star teams and the first VT All Star team to attend the World Games (2006), a desire driven by his own participation at the Games in 1998 as a member of the Iroquois National Team. He helped build the Bishop’s University team serving as First Assistant and Technical Coach from 2000 on and officially named Head Coach in 2011, the same year they became Canadian University Field Lacrosse National Champions. Rob has had at least 6 players drafted into the NLL, 2 MLL and several National team members.
Other than Rob no one knows the camp better than Taber who was participating in some form by the age of 3. His list of accomplishments include; IAS team in Open division Elite Lake Placid Tournament, Bishops University exhibition team, Tomahawks Purple team, starting attack all three years at New Hampton School (New Hampshire) captain his senior year leading the team in face-offs (74%) and assists, 2nd in points, capt.
